Presbyterian
Women
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves
to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
to support the mission of the church worldwide,
to work for justice and peace,
and to build an inclusive, caring community of women
that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God's Kingdom.

All female members of CHPC are members of Presbyterian Women
PW exists at the local, presbytery, and national level of the church.  It has a rich history of nurturing women,
and serving in  mission to the church and the world beyond.

Some PW Activities:

PW Circles
Circles are groups of women who meet monthly for Bible Study, friendship, and food. The Circles are the
basic unit of PW activity. We have two that meet in the morning, the Dorcas and the Esther Circles, and The
Ladies of the Evening, meeting at night.

Quilters and Crafters For Mission
Quilters and Crafters for Mission work on a variety of projects including quilting, knitting, crocheting, and
crafting. All items are given to the hospital for children, or to Church World Service.
Photos here soon!

Prayer Fellowship
Prayer Fellowship gathers every week to pray for the congregation and people in need. The current
participants know the power of prayer as evidenced by the many notes of thanksgiving.
An open invitation is offered to all to become a part of this meaningful service.

Church Women United
Church Women United is an ecumenical organization of the women of many churches throughout the
world. The women of CHPC participate with the Harrisburg area chapter and come together quarterly for
events.

Flower Delivery Schedule
Each month one of the three PW circles is in charge of delivering the worship flowers to persons in the
hospital or homebound.  If you would like to place flowers on the chancel for worship please contact the
church office for information.

Special Offerings
The Presbyterian Women sponsor three special offerings each year.
* Fellowship of the Least Coin, taken at the Spring PW Gathering, is the collection of the smallest
denomination of money - pennies in the USA - for missions throughout the world.
* Each spring the Presbyterian Women's Birthday Offering funds are sent to the national PW office and are
distributed between five national and international mission projects chosen each year.
* The PW Thank Offering, on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, expresses our gratitude for our blessings.
Our PW organization has traditionally invited a guest preacher to speak on a mission topic for Thank
Offering Sunday.

For information about any of these activities, contact Kathy Kuhn at the Church Office.
