Potential new members may unite with the Presbyterian Church (USA) by these
methods:
-
Certificate of Transfer, if you were an
active member of another church.
-
Reaffirmation of Faith, if you were
baptized but not active in a church.
-
Profession of Faith, if you were never
baptized, or, were baptized but never confirmed.
Twice a year, spring and
fall, four orientation sessions are provided for persons wishing to explore the
possibility of becoming an integral part of the life and ministry of the Camp
Hill Presbyterian Church (CHPC). These sessions will give persons some
background and understanding of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in general and the
Camp Hill Presbyterian Church in particular. They will give persons an
opportunity to establish relationships with others exploring the possibility of
becoming an integral part of the life and ministry of the Camp Hill Presbyterian
Church and with persons who are already members. They will help persons become
familiar with the expectations of membership and help them find their place
within the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church’s life and ministry.
If, after participation in these sessions, persons are wishing to formalize
their relationship with the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church by joining in
membership, they will meet with the Session (i.e. CHPC’s governing body) and
share something of their reasons for wishing to join in membership. Session
will then officially act on their request for membership, and persons will then
be received and welcomed at an upcoming Sunday Service of Worship. Often this
is on Pentecost Sunday and the First Sunday of Advent.
Orientation sessions are next scheduled for Sundays, October
23rd and 30th, and November 6th and 13th
from 5:15 to 7:00 pm, including a meal.
In
the meantime, there are many programs and activities for persons of all ages –
members and non-members alike – to be involved in. You are cordially invited to
visit us and discover the joy of belonging to a church which cares about you.
